SOCAL Soccer League – 2025/26 Game Day Quick Reference


SOCAL Soccer League is committed to safe, fair, and enjoyable matchdays. All participants—players, coaches, referees, and spectators—must follow the league’s rules, policies, and code of conduct.

Communication: ALL questions go through Club administrators (Lynn Perez), not directly from parents, team managers (club representatives), or coaches to the league.


✅ Pre-Game Checklist

  • Enter jersey numbers in GotSport before 1st match.

  • Print 3 match reports (available 3 days before game).

  • Bring player/staff passcards (physical, virtual, or photo).

  • Bring cash for referee fees (no electronic payments).

  • Confirm rosters & Club Pass players (max limits apply).


⚽ Players & Passcards

  • Max 2 games per day.

  • Must present valid US Club passcard (virtual is accepted).

  • No guest players allowed (CP players allowed).

  • Club Pass limits:

    • 7v7 / 9v9 → max 4 per game

    • 11v11 → max 5 per game (non-NPL)

    • NPL → 2 field + 1 GK (up only, not down)




👥 Sidelines & Bench

  • Spectators: Same sideline as team, opposite AR; not behind goals or with opposing team.

  • Bench: Max 3 staff with valid US Club passcards.

  • Coaches need minimum Grassroots license.


🧑‍⚖️ Referees

  • If ref no-show → Club contacts SOCAL to reschedule. (contact Lynn Perez by submitting a Ticket Request and she will contact SOCAL).

  • 7v7 may be played with coach facilitation if no ref.


🎽 Uniforms & Equipment

  • Home = light / Away = dark (wear RED whenever possible).

  • GK must wear distinct colors.

  • Home team provides 3 game balls.

  • Shin guards required; socks must cover.


📋 During the Game

  • Referees paid in cash before kickoff.

  • Passcards (coach and player ID’s) checked.

  • Home kicks off / Away picks side.

  • Follow FIFA rules with SOCAL modifications (sub rules, build-out lines, etc.).


📝 After the Game

  • Thank referees.

  • Collect passcards(if you didn’t use virtual).

  • Sign match reports.

  • Upload completed match report in GotSport.

  • Enter score + cards in GotSport within 48 hrs (Sat same-day if back-to-back).


🚨 Discipline

  • Red card (player) = min 1 game suspension.

  • Coach/spectator send-off = min 3 games + Behavior Accountability Module ($50).

  • Suspensions carry over to next SOCAL season if unserved.


💰 Fines & Forfeits

  • Illegal players / falsified documents → $500 + forfeit.

  • Forfeit fines = $250–$500 + referee fees.

  • No-shows = $250–$500 + referee fees (risk of removal).

  • Team drop fines = $500–$2,000 depending on timing.
